Our sensory room is a calm and welcoming space designed to engage children's senses and provide a safe environment for exploration, relaxation, and play. It has been thoughtfully created for younger children and those with additional support needs, offering a balance of soothing and stimulating equipment and toys.
Features
Visual Stimulation
Children can enjoy the gentle glow of bubble tubes, colourful fibre optic lights, and magical LED projections that fill the room with calming patterns and colours. Mirrors enhance the light effects, creating a sense of wonder and discovery.
Auditory Stimulation
Soothing background music and nature sounds create a peaceful atmosphere, whilst interactive sound toys and instruments encourage playful exploration and listening skills.
Tactile Stimulation
From sensory walls with different textures to a variety of tactile toys, little hands can explore rough, smooth, soft and bumpy surfaces. Weighted cushions and blankets are also available to provide comfort and reassurance.
Movement and Balance
Soft mats, crash pads, balance aids, and gentle swings give children the chance to develop their coordination and body awareness in a safe way.
Calming Elements
For moments of quiet, there are cosy corners with beanbags, low lighting, and soft seating where children can take a break, relax, and feel secure in their environment.
